FAFSA Workshop - Normal

Join Heartland Community College Financial Aid for assistance in completing your 2027-28 FAFSA.

Representatives from Heartland Financial Aid will be available between 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm for assistance completing the FAFSA. The workshop will be held in the Community Commons Building (Normal campus), room 1112.  The 2027-28 FAFSA covers the Fall 2027, Spring 2028, and Summer 2028 semesters.  

What information do I need to complete my 2027-28 FAFSA or the alternative application for Illinois Financial Aid? 

• Your 2025 federal tax returns, W-2's, and other records of money earned
• Banking statements and records of investments (if applicable) 
• Records of untaxed income (if applicable)
• If you will be completing the 2026-27 FAFSA (for spring 2027 or summer 2027), bring 2024 tax information.

Additional information you will need if you are completing the FAFSA: 

• Social Security Number. Be sure it is correct! 
• Your Alien Registration Number, if you (student) are not a U.S. citizen 
• An FSA ID to sign in electronically

If you're a dependent student, your parents will need to create their own FSA ID and complete the required information.

If you're a married student, you will need:

• Spouse income information
• SSN
• Date of birth
